Myrtle E. Green

Myrtle E. Green, 78, of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 4000 Valley Square, Woodside Village, Grand Forks, ND. Myrtle E. Staie was born in Haug-Leo Township, North of Greenbush, MN on May 18, 1928 the daughter of Selma Linert. She grew up and attended school in rural Greenbush through the ninth grade. Myrtle Staie married Gordan Green on November 9, 1946 in Greenbush, MN. They moved to Grand Forks in 1953. Myrtle worked for Simplot in Grand Forks for numerous years before retiring. Mr. Green passed away on June 27, 1999. Myrtle loved to spend time working on puzzles, needlepoint, sewing and selling their homemade crafts at local bazaars. During the summer months she enjoyed camping with friends. Myrtle is survived by: Brother: Menford Staie - Downers Grove, IL; Grandchildren: Kim (Jesse) Massey - Bonney Lake, Washington; Kurt Nelson - Kent, Washington; Kathi Nelson - Weed, California; 8 great grandchildren. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Gordan and her daughter, Yvonne Nelson. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND (Spring of 2007).
