A Cando, N.D., man was injured Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve on U.S. Highway 281 south of the Towner County city.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Brandon Berndt, 24, was driving north on Highway 281 about 5 miles south of Cando at 4:10 p.m. Sunday when he lost control on a curve.
The 2003 Suzuki motorcycle went into the west ditch, rolled on its side, then slid into water. Berndt was thrown off the bike and landed in the ditch, breaking an ankle. He was taken to Towner County Medical Center in Cando for treatment.
Road conditions were dry and the weather was "nice" at the time of the accident, the Patrol reported.
