MOTLEY - A 35-year-old Motley man was arrested Saturday following a stabbing at a Motley residence, reported the Morrison County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities arrested Patrick James Smith, who is being held in the Morrison County Jail pending formal charges of first-degree assault using deadly force against another person.
The victim, Paul Eisel, 45, Motley, called the sheriff's office at 12:47 a.m. indicating he was stabbed at his residence. Deputies along with Staples police officers responded.
During the initial investigation, Eisel advised law enforcement officers he was stabbed with a pocket knife in his apartment at the Motley Motel by Smith. Eisel, who was injured, was transported by Staples ambulance to Lakewood Health Systems in Staples.
Deputies located and arrested Smith a short time later.
