Grand Forks and East Grand Forks plan to spray for mosquitoes for between 8 p.m. and midnight Tuesday. This morning's mosquito trap count was 35.
Mosquito control crews continue to see an increase in nuisance mosquitoes and the Culex tarsalis mosquitoes that are most common for transmitting West Nile virus.
The mosquito control trucks are identified and travel with a flashing yellow light. Residents may want to go inside just before their area is sprayed and stay inside for 20-30 minutes until the aerosol cloud dissipates. Anyone who is sensitive to chemicals may want to close their windows during the ground spraying.
Spraying will be suspended if it's too windy or inclement weather strikes. For more information, call (701) 787-8144 or visit www.gfmosquito.com .
Airborne Custom Spraying has scheduled a mosquito application from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday over Newfolden, Minn.
