Morris Arthur LokkenMorris A. Lokken, 78, of Finley, ND passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Cooperstown Medical Center, Cooperstown, ND.
Morris A. Lokken was born February 21, l929 in Finley, ND. His parents were Hjalmer and Martha (Johnson) Lokken. Morris grew up on his family farm and attended school at Franklin # 3. He married Ona Hillesland March 20, l958 at Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. They lived at the family farm and in several different communities in North Dakota and Minnesota. Morris worked as a farm laborer, mechanic, truck driver, hauled fuel oil and worked road construction. He was a hard worker and good at whatever he did. Morris was a man of few words with a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister Ruth (Lokken) Versdahl and children Alice (Jon) Gates, Juneau, AK, Lorie (Richard) Fife, Finley, ND, Donald Lokken and Melissa Coen, Finley, ND, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Ona, parents and sister Esther. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND. The Bilden Funeral Home, Northwood is in charge of arrangements.
