MOORHEAD, Minn. – A Moorhead grocery store was evacuated because of a gas leak late Sunday afternoon.
The smell of natural gas was reported just before 4:30 p.m. at the Family Fare store at 2605 8th St. S.
Crews began evacuating the building around 4:40 p.m.
Moorhead fire officials confirmed natural gas was leaking from a chiller on the roof and say gas levels in that area are usually around 10 percent, but they were around 20 percent.
No injuries have been reported. Fire officials say the store should be back open later tonight.
