MOORHEAD - Police here are investigating the reported rape of a woman Wednesday night in or near Memorial Park, Lt. Tory Jacobson said.
The victim's son called police at 9:34 p.m. to report that his mother had just been raped by a man who was no longer there, and that both the suspect and victim were intoxicated, according to the police dispatch log.
Jacobson said alcohol is a factor in the investigation, and no arrests have been made.
The woman reported that she was assaulted by a male acquaintance, and a 51-year-old Moorhead man has been interviewed, Jacobson stated in a news release, noting both parties have been cooperative with investigators.
