Moorhead man accused of punching female passenger while driving

FARGO - A Moorhead man who reportedly had a woman in a headlock and was punching her while he was driving was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of domestic violence, DUI and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

A witness reported seeing the man beating the woman at 9:27 p.m. on Main Avenue in Fargo.

Based on the witness' description, Fargo police pulled over the vehicle in the 800 block of 42nd Street South and saw the 41-year-old victim with blood on her face and clothing, Fargo Police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

Officers also found marijuana and paraphernalia in the vehicle, he said.

Oscar Wilkie, 45, of Moorhead, was arrested and booked at the Cass County Jail.

The victim, who lives with the suspect, didn't require medical attention, Lykken said.
