FARGO – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Moorhead, Minn., man accused of calling in a bomb threat against Sanford Medical Center on Friday.

Criminal charges accuse Peter Jonathan Rovang, 53, of being involved in a fight with security guards there two days before.

Charging documents filed Monday in Cass County District Court state that Rovang made the threats via phone to a Sanford operator.

The documents say Rovang called the hospital and demanded the names of the security officers. When he didn’t get them, Rovang allegedly told the operator he would “blow the place up” if he didn’t get what he wanted.

When Rovang’s call was transferred to a patient representative, he allegedly told that worker he would blow up the hospital if he didn’t get their names by 8 the next morning.

Rovang allegedly later admitted to a Fargo police detective that he made the threats because he was frustrated over the fight.
