James Ebertowski, known as Jay, lived alone in his house at 230 Wilson Ave. in Minto, N.D., where he died Saturday when his house burned, said Walsh County Chief Deputy Ron Jurgens. Ebertowski, 65, was retired. He died Saturday, apparently of smoke inhalation, in his home. A state fire marshal determined the fire started in the kitchen in the sove area, Jurgens said.
The fire call came in at 3:32p.m., Saturday, and the Minto Fire Department responded, as did the Minto Quick Response team and Valley Ambulance. Not much could be done except to make sure no other buildings were damaged. The house was a total loss.
