Minnesota woman fined for hiding runaway girl

According to court records, on April 21 tribal police received information that a runaway girl from Lisbon, N.D. may be at the Warren residence.

Warren denied the 14-year-old girl was there and let police search the house. They found the girl hiding in a bedroom closet.

Warren admitted the girl had shown up at the residence two weeks earlier and had been staying there since. The runway’s boyfriend, Michael James Warren, 18, also lives there.

On April 19, District Judge Joe Evans issued a stay of adjudication and ordered Warren to serve 30 days in jail, with credit for one day served. Electronic home monitoring was authorized.

She was fined $1,000, with $500 of that stayed four years, and ordered to pay $585 in court fees.

She must get chemical use and mental health assessments and follow the recommendations. She was placed on supervised probation for four years.
