PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. - A woman injured in a head-on crash near here on Dec. 4 has died, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The patrol was notified Monday that 59-year-old Brenda Cossette of Pelican Rapids died of injuries suffered in the accident.

Cossette was the human resources director for the city of Fergus Falls.

Cossette was a passenger in a pickup driven by her husband, Kenneth R. Cossette. They were northbound on U.S. Highway 59 about 11:37 a.m. when Kenneth Cossette lost control on icy snow and crossed into the southbound lane, striking an SUV head on.

Both vehicles went into the west ditch, the patrol said.

Kenneth Cossette and the driver of the SUV, identified as Linda J. Mallow, 43, Pelican Rapids, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
