HASTINGS, Minn. -- The Rosemount man who caused a fatal crash in Lakeville and then hid naked in a stranger’s townhouse to elude police has pleaded guilty to gross negligence criminal vehicular homicide and first-degree burglary.

Eric Kasprzyk, 40, of Rosemount, entered the plea Wednesday in Dakota County District Court in Hastings. Sentencing will be Aug. 9.

According to the criminal complaint, Kasprzyk drove a BMW the wrong way while speeding in Lakeville on April 1 and ran a red light, hitting a southbound Toyota Camry. Osah Phetsarath, 45, of Lakeville died at the scene.

Kasprzyk fled, shedding his clothes as he ran toward an Apple Valley neighborhood about two blocks north of the crash site. A woman called 911 and said a naked man entered her townhouse through an unlocked door and locked himself in a closet. Officers entered the home and took Kasprzyk into custody.
