Minnesota courthouse office evacuated because of suspicious letter

VIRGINIA, Minn. -- The court administrator's office at the St. Louis County Courthouse in Virginia was evacuated Friday afternoon after staff members opened a letter containing an unknown powder substance.

VIRGINIA, Minn. -- The court administrator's office at the St. Louis County Courthouse in Virginia was evacuated Friday afternoon after staff members opened a letter containing an unknown powder substance.

The suspicious letter was removed by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and will be forwarded to the Minnesota Department of Health for testing.

No health issues or injuries were reported, the sheriff's office said.

The court administrator's office was evacuated as a precaution and will remain closed until the investigation is complete and the office is determined to be safe.
