Minn. labor department investigates EGF restaurant

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry said Thursday it is investigating a recent wage complaint by an employee against Little Bangkok restaurant in East Grand Forks.

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry said Thursday it is investigating a recent wage complaint by an employee against Little Bangkok restaurant in East Grand Forks.

The department said the case is still open.

"In general, when we get calls about wage and hour questions, we work with the employer to have them provide us information about what practices are going on at their location and what apparent violations we've been made aware about," spokesperson James Honerman said. "We usually tell the employer what types of things people have said that aren't in compliance with wage and hour laws. We work with them to make sure they're in compliance with wage and hour laws if needed."

The owners of Little Bangkok, at 302 E. Demers Ave., are working to open another restaurant nearby in East Grand Forks.

Messages left for co-owner Dave Scheer were not returned. Co-owner Thamrong Dechawuth was not at the restaurant.
