McCoy, Morgan, Milsap, Nichols headline Kickn' Up Kountry

Country singing greats Neal McCoy, Lorrie Morgan, Ronnie Milsap and Joe Nichols will be among the entertainers at the fifth annual Kick'n Up Kounry music festival Labor Day weekend in Thief River Falls.

Lancaster, Minn., native Ashlee Hewitt, who made it to the final five in the recent NBC television "Nashville Star" competition, will perform at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 29.

The event will feature country music, dancing, comedy, food, vendors and more Aug. 29-31 at the Pennington County Fairgrounds.

Jeff Bates ("Long, Slow Kisses") will headline Aug. 29. Lorrie Morgan, who was 13 when she first sang at the Grand Ole Opry, will be on stage Aug. 30, and Joe Nichols ("Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off") will close the curtain that day.

Ronnie Milsap, whose dozens of No. 1 hits include "Smoky Mountain Rain" and "Stand by My Woman Man," along with Neal McCoy ("The Shake") will bring down the house Aug. 31. Here's a schedule:

Trinity Trio and the Overtones on Aug. 31 will sing and play gospel music at the band shell. The roving Mayberry Cops Comedy Act will perform all three days, and Ted Curfman with his covered wagon and mules George and Gracie will provide fans with free shuttle rides from area motels to the concerts.
