The Grand Forks Masons are joining other local organizations in getting their name attached to a neighborhood park.
The Malta Lodge will pay $10,000 for naming rights to a 10-acre park on the corner of 40th Avenue South and South 20th Street. The south-end park will have playground equipment and "maybe a little ball field," according to Bill Palmiscno, Park District superintendent.
The park will be named either Masons Park or Masonic Park. Malta representatives said they plan to make periodic donations for park improvements.
Other organizations that have park naming rights are Kiwanis, Optimists, Sertoma, Prime Steel, Jaycees and Lions.
