Marion, N.D., man killed in one-vehicle crash; driver arrested for DUI

MARION, N.D. - A man died in a one-vehicle accident near Marion, N.D., just after midnight Saturday.

The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old female, was arrested for DUI, said Sgt. Troy Hischer of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Additional charges could be filed pending review by the LaMoure County State's Attorney's office, he said.

The driver lost control of a truck on a snow-covered gravel road, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol report.

The vehicle entered a ditch of rural 56th Street and rolled over, 1.5 miles southeast of Marion, the report said.

The male passenger, 40, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries. The driver also suffered injuries.

Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing seat belts, according to the report. The vehicle was totaled.
