MANDAN, N.D. – Mandan police are asking for the public’s help in locating several missing firearms and clothing linked to a homicide this week.
Officers responding Monday night to a reported death at 904 Poplar St. in Mandan found Alex Lansdon, 28, dead in his home with multiple gunshot wounds, a news release from police Thursday stated.
Officers searched the home but found no one else there.
Lansdon’s roommate told police he found Lansdon dead when he arrived home just before calling police, the release said.

Police have been tracing the movements of Lansdon and others prior to the homicide and have interviewed “a number of people and still have more to contact,” the release said.
Investigators have submitted evidence to the state crime lab, and they returned to the crime scene Wednesday and collected additional evidence that was still being analyzed Thursday.
The missing firearms include long guns and handguns, police said. The guns and the clothing may have been discarded outside the immediate area of the homicide, “so please be alert,” the release said.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Metro Area Narcotics Task Force are assisting in the investigation.
