MANDAN, N.D. - A Mandan High School special education teacher is facing a felony charge after she allegedly had sex with a male high school student.

Amanda Kolosky, 35, was charged in South Central District Court in Morton County with felony corruption of a minor. She remained in custody Friday after appearing before Judge Sonna Anderson. Mandan Public School District Superintendent Mike Bitz said Friday he is aware of the charge and Kolosky has been placed on indefinite administrative leave pending the resolution of the case.

"This is now a legal matter, and the Mandan Public School District will have no further comment until this matter has been resolved in court," he said.

According to the affidavit signed by Sgt. Patrick Haug, a detective with the Mandan Police Department, on Wednesday he received a report from a private counselor that a 17-year-old student male Mandan High School student said he had formed a relationship with Kolosky, one that began with eating lunch and sending text messages to each other and led to kissing and sex.

The student said, on the night of May 8, he went to Kolosky's home in the 800 block of First Street Northwest where they watched a movie, then had sex, according to the affidavit.
