FARGO – A 27-year-old man found to have thousands of child pornography images on his computer pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Fargo.
An investigation into Jared Tyler Allen of Fargo was launched after investigators found child pornography was being shared from a North Dakota computer, a release from federal prosecutors said.
Homeland Security investigators and local officers seized two computers from Allen’s Fargo apartment and found more than 3,400 images and 175 videos depicting child porn, the release said.
Allen pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors and another count of possession of materials involving sexual exploitation of minors.

He faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
Allen is scheduled for sentencing May 12 in U.S. District Court in Fargo.
