CLIMAX, Minn.-A Nielsville, Minn., man who died in a Tuesday morning crash in northwest Minnesota was not wearing a seat belt, state troopers said.
Jason Jerome Nelson, 36, died after the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer he was driving hit a 1993 GMC Aero semi, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The semi driven by 21-year-old Dalton Brian Fredrickson of Thief River Falls was stopped on U.S. Highway 75 about 2 miles south of Climax.
Fredrickson was wearing his seat belt but was not injured. No alcohol was involved, officers said.
Climax is about 30 miles southeast of Grand Forks.
