A Fort Totten, N.D., man accused of stabbing a man over $5 is expected to plead guilty Tuesday to the charges against him in Fargo's federal court.

Earland Rebel McKay, 30, faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious injury.

An FBI agent reported that McKay used a black folding knife to stab Matthew Ironshield in the shoulder March 17 at a home in Fort Totten.

Ironshield told officers who were called to the home that McKay held the knife to his throat and threatened to cut him over the debt. When Ironshield tried to push McKay away, McKay stabbed him in the shoulder, the agent's report says. Ironshield was treated at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.

McKay, who's being held at the Grand Forks County jail, told the Herald he felt bad about the incident because Ironshield is "like a little brother to me."
