WEST FARGO -- Authorities are investigating after a 28-year-old man was shot in rural Cass County Friday night.
Cass County deputies responded to a disconnected 911 call reporting a disturbance in a rural area of the county at about 11:53 p.m., but they weren’t able to find the caller, Sgt. Tara Morris said in a news release Saturday. Shortly after midnight, Cass County deputies responded to a report in West Fargo of a man who had been shot, Morris said.
Police later determined that both calls came from the same 28-year-old victim, who they found on Brookwood Lane in West Fargo.
The victim’s name wasn’t released Saturday, but Morris said the gunshot wound isn’t believed to be life-threatening. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe the victim and the shooter knew each other, Morris said, and police are following up on a few leads pertaining to suspects in the case.
