A Minnesota man remains in critical condition after he was injured in a Thursday morning train-truck collision near Fisher, Minn.

A spokeswoman with Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis said Robert J. Forsman, 47, Breezy Point, Minn., remained in critical condition at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Forsman was driving a tandem-axle truck loaded with sugar beets north from a field at 7:36 a.m. Thursday when his vehicle was struck by a westbound freight train.

The patrol reported that Forsman failed to stop at the railroad crossing at 370th Ave. S.W. near the intersection with U.S. Highway 2 near Fisher, Minn., and about 11 miles east of East Grand Forks.

Forsman was taken to Altru by ambulance and was later transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. He was reported to be in critical condition at the time he was transferred to the Minneapolis hospital.
