A man accused of starting nine blazes in Grand Forks last year has pleaded guilty to two counts of endangerment by fire.
Under a plea agreement, 23-year-old Michael Duray would serve two years in prison and three years of supervised probation.
Duray was originally charged with nine counts of endangerment by fire, all Class C felonies. Defense attorney Blake Hankey said his client pleaded guilty to the charges in the two blazes in which there was evidence he was there.
Police reported that vehicles and residences were set on fire in the early morning hours of June 28, 2008. The vehicles each received more than $2,000 in damage, and the residences sustained minor to extensive damage, police said.
The plea agreement stipulates that Duray pay restitution on all nine charges and undergo psychological and substance abuse evaluations.

State District Court Judge Sonja Clapp, who can deviate from the plea agreement, is scheduled to sentence Duray on Aug. 5.
Duray also was accused of setting fire to two of his neighbors' garages in Fargo on April 1 during this spring's flood fight. Duray has pleaded not guilty to two felony arson charges in Cass County. His trial is set to start July 21.
