A Grand Forks man was injured and charged after the pickup he was driving crashed into a house along University Avenue early Monday morning.

Craig Buchholz, 31, was treated at Altru Hospital and released to the custody of police after the crash, which occurred at about 1:56 a.m., according to a report from Grand Forks Police Department.

Police say he was driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado along University Avenue when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a house on the 1000 block of University.

Buchholz, who was alone in the vehicle at the time, allegedly fled the scene.

Buchholz was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and leaving the scene, according to the report. He was taken to Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
