Man faces charges after police chase him from Grand Forks to Thompson

A Park River, N.D., man was arrested late Friday after leading Grand Forks police on a chase out of the city to Thompson, where the man was taken into custody after a brief pursuit on foot.

A Park River, N.D., man was arrested late Friday after leading Grand Forks police on a chase out of the city to Thompson, where the man was taken into custody after a brief pursuit on foot.

Police initially tried to stop Shawn Danielson, 31, on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a department news release. Danielson fled from officers, turned south onto Interstate 29 and then into Thompson.

Danielson was cited for DUI, driving under suspension, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and fleeing on foot and in a motor vehicle, according to the release.

Grand Forks police were assisted by officers of the North Dakota Highway Patrol and Thompson Police Department.
