MOORHEAD, Minn.  - A train struck and killed a person on railroad tracks in downtown Moorhead, according to Moorhead Police Capt. Deric Swenson.

Swenson said the collision happened about 4:28 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5.

The identity of the person killed was not immediately released.

The train stopped after hitting the person and it has not yet been moved, so several downtown crossings were blocked for more than an hour.
