WADENA, Minn. - An 18-year-old is charged with four crimes after allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old girl in the face with an ink pen in the parking lot of Wadena-Deer Creek School.
Jordan Jeffrey Jones was charged May 20 in Wadena County District Court with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon - substantial bodily harm, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, third-degree assault -substantial bodily harm, and domestic abuse - violate OFP while possessing a dangerous weapon.
Bond was set at $75,000 or $7,500 cash bail with conditions, or $150,000 with no conditions.
According to court documents, a Wadena police officer was dispatched to the parking lot around 8:30 p.m. on May 18 on a report of a female stabbed in the face. When police arrived, they found and questioned Jones, who said it was all a "misunderstanding."
Court documents said the officer checked out the 17-year-old female victim, who had a large amount of blood on her face and clothing and a two-inch cut on the corner of her mouth. She was crying and holding the left side of her face.

According to court records, the victim said she was assaulted while inside her car in the parking lot. She said she and Jones had started arguing, and then he said "I'm going to [expletive] kill you."
The girl told police an order for protection has been in place since Christmas Eve 2008.
Jones told police the girl was hitting and choking him, and he accidentally stabbed her with the pen when he was trying to push her away, court documents said. The officer interviewing Jones said there didn't appear to be any fresh injuries on his body.
According to the police account, the victim said Jones had broken her shift lever on her car so she couldn't leave, and took her keys and threw them across the parking lot to prevent her from leaving.
The girl received stitches at Tri-County Hospital before being released.
An initial Rule 8 hearing was scheduled to be held May 26.
