Bail was set at $2 million Monday for a man accused of murdering two elderly rural Mahnomen County residents in their home.

Timothy James Thorson, 53, Mahnomen, appeared in Mahnomen County District Court Monday, where he was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two other felony charges.

He is the sole suspect in the fatal shooting of Francis Lundon, 72, and Ethyl Lundon, 71, who lived near Thorson, Minn.

About 20 Lundon family members attended the arraignment hearing.

Bail was set at $5 million without conditions and $2 million with conditions for release.
