BISMARCK -- The newest North Dakota lottery game has its first big winner who can receive a check of $25,000 a year for life.
The winning ticket in the “Lucky for Life” game was purchased Monday in Belcourt in far northeast North Dakota on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and hadn’t been claimed as of Tuesday afternoon.
The winner matched the five white balls of 12, 21, 25, 30, 40. If the player would have matched the Lucky Ball of 5 they would have won $1,000 a day for life -- the top prize in the new game.
The lucky ticket was sold at the Utter Stop, Highway 5 East, in Belcourt. The player will have the option to receive an annuity payment of $25,000 a year for life or a lump sum cash payment of $390,000 and must claim the prize within 180 days.
Lucky for Life was launched in North Dakota on Jan. 31.
