BELCOURT, N.D. -- Sasha Golus scored 28 points for Turtle Mountain in its win against Grand Forks Central on Saturday.

Jezzerae Laroque added 15 points and Julia Davis 14 for Turtle Mountain, which led 40-39 at halftime.

"We haven't played for two-and-a-half weeks because of all the postponements, so we definitely shook off some rust," Central coach Brent Hintz said. "We had lots of foul trouble that contributed to our struggle with our offensive rhythm, so players had to play out of position."

Lacey Petersen led the 2-1 Knights with 20 points, followed by Courtney Hammer's 17.

"(Turtle Mountain's) size gave us some trouble," Hintz said. "We went for some long stretches where we didn't have much size on the floor. The girls played really hard. It was really closer than the score shows."

DEVILS LAKE -- Luke Schreiner scored a game-high 26 points and Grand Forks Red River had an eight-point halftime lead. But it wasn't enough as Devils Lake came up with a big second half for the home win Saturday.

Ben Wolf led Devils Lake with 23 points, followed by Taylor Hoffart's 16 and Josh Colon's 12.

Devils Lake, which trailed 39-31 at the break, outscored the Roughriders 40-28 in the second half.

"We didn't execute real well for like five minutes in the second half," Red River coach Jason Gregory said. "We did a lot of individual things and that's how they got the lead back.

"We just tried to play one-on-one basketball rather than playing together."

Tyler Thompson, Matt Lee and Zach Soleim scored 10 points each for 2-1 Red River.

Peter Orson scored 6 minutes, 53 seconds into overtime to lift Fargo South to the win Saturday night in Grand Forks. Both teams entered the game undefeated in East Region play.

"We have been preaching to Peter in practice to get the puck on the net and that was all it took tonight," Bruins coach David Benson said. The goal came after Orson fought past Bryce Anderson and put a diving one-timer under the glove of Rider goaltender Mitch Byrne. "It was a great individual effort to beat those guys and win us the game."

The Roughriders held a 3-1 lead after two periods. Fargo South jumped back into the game when Matt Wagner rocketed a shot in and David Burdick put a rebound through traffic.

"The better team won tonight," Roughrider coach Matt Malm said. "We had chances in the second period and some chances again in overtime to put it away but we did not capitalize."

The Riders were led by Brock Dahl, who had a goal and an assist. Jordan Bancroft and Josh Heisz also scored for Red River.
