The man, who was not immediately identified, was westbound on Barnes County Road 38 a half-mile north of Litchville when the crash happened at 3:30 p.m.

The patrol said the man was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Corvette convertible on the paved road when it gradually drifted into the north ditch, where it rotated clockwise and rolled. The driver was not wearing a seat belt.

The car and driver came to rest in a soybean field.
