Robin J. Hill, 39, Bemidji was seriously injured early Friday morning while fleeing police on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred at 12:28 a.m. on Mission Road Northeast north of Cass Lake in Beltrami County.

Hill was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango at a high speed with tribal police in pursuit when Hill lost control entered the left ditch, rolled and struck several trees. The gravel road was icy at the time and alcohol was found in Hill's system afterwards, the patrol said.

Hill was flown to a hospital by North Air Care.
