FARGO -- Red River Valley news watchers will see a change in KVRR-TV anchors starting next month.
Andrea Larson, a former KVLY-TV news anchor and reporter, will co-anchor the Fargo Fox TV affiliate's 6 and 9 p.m. newscasts with Austin Schauer starting Jan. 2.
Her first day at KVRR is today, even though she will not appear on camera until next month, said News Director Jim Shaw.
"(Larson's) a terrific news person," he said Tuesday. "She will be a fabulous fit for this newsroom."
Larson's last day with NBC-TV affiliate KVLY was Thursday. She had worked for the station since 1999.

"It's a new and exciting endeavor," Larson said of her job move Tuesday night. "KVRR offered me a position and schedule that offered me more time to spend with family" while working.
Larson replaces Nicole Phillips, whose last on-air day is Jan. 1. She said she plans to spend more time with her family while remaining in the Fargo area. "It was a really hard decision for me," Phillips said Tuesday. "My kids need me at the same time I'm working."
Phillips is married to North Dakota State University Bison Head Coach Saul Phillips. They have two children.
Phillips said she started working for KVRR in May 2006. She worked at TV stations in Madison and Milwaukee, Wis., before moving to Fargo.
Larson has worked as a KVLY consumer reporter and co-anchor for the station's "Valley Today" and 5 p.m. newscasts. She worked at the NBC-TV affiliates in Bismarck and Minot before moving to Fargo.
Larson also co-anchored the 5:30 p.m. news for KXJB-TV, which is run by KVLY's corporate owner Hoak Media Corp.
"I'll miss my co-workers and friends (at KVLY)," Larson said. "They're wonderful people and dedicated to news."
Charley Johnson, general manager for KVLY and KXJB, said the station is working to find a replacement for Larson's position.
