The Kittson County Sheriff's Department said it has charged a Karlstad, Minn., man with violating a law forbidding sex with someone younger than 13.
Todd J. Nelson, 52, was arrested 7:15 p.m. Sunday. He is being held at Kittson County Jail, the sheriff's department said, and is scheduled to appear in court in Hallock at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The maximum penalty for criminal sexual conduct in the first degree is 30 years in jail and/or a $40,000 fine.
