BISMARCK – North Dakota Public Service Commissioner Brian Kalk will testify about a variety of energy infrastructure bills Thursday before a U.S. Senate committee.

Kalk will testify at 9 a.m. in front of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in Washington, D.C., about how changes in federal energy policy may affect the future of the state’s energy generation and transmission facilities, according to a PSC news release.

Kalk said the PSC has sited more than $4 billion in energy projects in the past three years and it’s important to share North Dakota’s experiences as the committee debates future energy policy.

The committee’s chairwoman, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, invited Kalk to testify, he said.
