A Grand Forks woman will be recognized by the North Dakota Women's Network as the fifth recipient of its "Woman of the Year."
Judy DeMers will be honored during a dinner celebration Oct. 1 in the Alerus Center.
DeMers has served the state through her 18-year term in the state Legislature, through her position as associate dean for student affairs and admissions at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and as an instructor in public health nursing.
The event begins with a social at 5 p.m. The dinner and award ceremony is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $40 apiece or $400 for a table. To make reservations, call (701) 226-1116 or register online .
