CARSON, N.D. -- A judge has dismissed one of seven felony charges against Craig Cobb, a white supremacist accused of terrorizing people last fall in the southwestern North Dakota town of Leith.
Grant County State’s Attorney Todd Schwarz asked that the charge be dropped, stating in a motion filed last week that alleged victim Gregory Bruce made contradictory statements about whether he feared that Cobb was going to cause him injury.
Bruce said last week that the comment in question was made in reference to the fact that Cobb was jailed in Mercer County and couldn’t harm him, and that Schwarz took the comment out of context.
Judge David Reich signed the order dismissing the charge on Friday afternoon.

The alleged terrorizing incident happened Nov. 16 as Cobb and cohort Kynan Dutton were conducting an armed patrol of property Cobb had purchased in Leith with hopes of taking over the town government and creating an all-white enclave.
Cobb, 62, is scheduled for a jury trial July 15-17 in Grant County District Court.
