Grand Forks, ND - On Monday, December 3, Mayor Michael R. Brown proclaimed December 14, 2007 an official citywide Jeans Day for Ali's Boundless Playground. The City of Grand Forks along with community partnerships are asking that employees citywide wear jeans to work and make a donation for Ali's playground.

Ali Karpenko, born with Spina Bifida, has had a dream for a community playground that is accessible to children with disabilities. With the support of her friends, family and various community organizations, Ali, a fourteen year old, eighth grader from Schroeder Middle School is working to raise $200,000 for the new Boundless Playground to be constructed in Sertoma Park in Grand Forks in 2008.
Businesses may offer to match employee donations and they may also designate a person to accept donations. Collections can be mailed to Ali's Boundless Playground, PO Box 12420, Grand Forks, ND 58201 or dropped off at the Arc Upper Valley, 2500 DeMers Ave. Make a secure online donation at www.gfsertoma.com or www.thearcuppervalley.org .
