Iowa man found in Grand Forks charged with murder in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa -- An Iowa man who was found Monday walking on North Washington Street on the outskirts of Grand Forks has been charged in the death of his stepson in Des Moines.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- An Iowa man who was found Monday walking on North Washington Street on the outskirts of Grand Forks has been charged in the death of his stepson in Des Moines.
Randy Dean Miles Jr., 41, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and first-degree arson in the death of Christopher Lenhart, 26, whose burned body was found near two burning vehicles Aug. 25 in Des Moines. Lenhart died Aug. 27 in an Iowa City hospital.
Miles was arrested Monday while walking along the 3000 block of North Washington after Des Moines police asked local agencies for assistance finding him in the Grand Forks area.
Miles is being processed for extradition in Northeast Central District Court in Grand Forks. His extradition hearing currently is set for Oct. 2.
