Husband and wife injured when motorcycle hits deer

FRAZEE, Minn. - A husband and wife from Perham were seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a deer near Frazee, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

FRAZEE, Minn. - A husband and wife from Perham were seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a deer near Frazee, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

William Sazama, 54, was driving the 2005 Harley Davidson with his wife, Cynthia, 54, on the back when a deer crossed Highway 87 about 15 miles east of Frazee at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Both were thrown from the bike onto the highway, the patrol stated in a news release.

William Sazama was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes. His wife was airlifted to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Both were wearing helmets.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office assisted the patrol.
