Humane Society to hold third annual dog festival

The Circle of Friends Humane Society of Grand Forks holds its third annual All 4 Fun Dog Festival, noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 9 with a demonstration from the Grand Forks Kennel Club, doggy games, contests and more.

The Circle of Friends Humane Society of Grand Forks holds its third annual All 4 Fun Dog Festival, noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 9 with a demonstration from the Grand Forks Kennel Club, doggy games, contests and more.

The event takes place at Circle of Friends Dog Park at 4375 N. Washington St. Dogs must be leashed except when participating in games. Donations will be accepted to assist the Circle of Friends in its mission to shelter lost or unwanted animals.

Contests for best costume, owner look-alike, best trick, cutest, most disobedient and best tail-wager will be judged by Herald columnist Marilyn Hagerty and Grand Forks Police Chief John Packett.

The Second Chance Alumni Reunion will recognize dogs adopted from Circle of Friends and their caregivers. Certificates for food, books, pet items, pottery and more will be sold at silent auction. The Manvel Fire Department will grill food as a department fundraiser.
