NEW RICHMOND, Wis. -- A Hudson man accused of biting two people at a New Richmond home before leading police on two separate pursuits has been charged with multiple crimes in St. Croix County Circuit Court.
Prosecutors last week charged David Toenjes, 28, with one count of felony attempting to flee a traffic officer, two counts of misdemeanor battery and one count each of criminal trespass, obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.
Following a 911 call in the early morning hours of Feb. 15, a New Richmond police officer chased Toenjes who was fleeing in a vehicle while the other officer checked on the victims, who had barricaded themselves inside the home. The woman said Toenjes was an acquaintance and arrived at the house drunk and in search of a key to his house. She said she had a key to his house so she could let his dog out.
Toenjes pushed his way into the house over protests by the man inside, prompting a struggle.

After punching the man in the head, Toenjes then bit him on the finger, said court documents. The woman attempted to separate the men and was bitten by Toenjes in the process, said the report.
Toenjes, meanwhile, ditched the first officer and then led a St. Croix County deputy later on a seven-mile chase at speeds up to 92 mph when he escaped again, said documents. The man later in the morning turned himself into the St. Croix County Jail.
