The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded more than $1.9 million in grants to housing services in North Dakota.

The funds will support services to prevent homelessness in North Dakota, according to a news release from North Dakota's U.S. congressional delegates.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce will receive $304,416, St. Joseph's Social Care and Thrift Store, Grand Forks, will receive $15,277, Prairie Heights, Devils Lake, will receive $46,675, Red River Valley Community Action, Grand Forks, will receive $49,267 and Community Violence Intervention Center, Grand Forks, will receive $93,928.
