Grand Forks residents will have two chances to see former President Bill Clinton when he visits Saturday.
• Clinton will speak at the flood obelisk in downtown Grand Forks, located just south of the Sorlie Bridge on the bank of the Red River, at 10:45 a.m. The public is invited and asked to arrive by 10:15 a.m.
Several downtown streets will close at 9 a.m. for the event, including Third Street from Kittson Avenue to First Avenue North and DeMers Avenue from Fourth Street to East Grand Forks including the Sorlie Bridge. Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the bridge.
Greenway bike trails also will be closed from Minnesota Avenue to Second Avenue North. Public parking will be available in both downtown parking ramps.
• Clinton also will deliver the keynote address at the Democratic-NPL state convention, which will be held at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. He is expected to speak around 1 p.m., and doors will open to the public for the event at 11:30 a.m.
