Arts and crafts supply store Hobby Lobby is considering a Grand Forks location, a spokesman confirmed Monday.

Vince Parker, director of training and customer service, said Hobby Lobby "would love to become part of the local economy."

Parker said there are still "many criteria" that would have to be met before any store plans would move ahead.

"We have been looking and will continue to look for a location," he said.

The privately held retail chain, founded in 1972, is based in Oklahoma City, Okla. The stores sell arts and crafts supplies, picture frames and home accents.
