Coach Rerick says: "Ashley definitely is one of our top hitters. But we have good hitters to go with her. Our hitting depth is one of our strengths. And our defense has a lot to do with our success. We play good defense and have good passers. . . . I had high expectations (going into the season). We have six seniors who are all really experienced. Our whole team's goal was to make it to state."
Noteworthy: Reserve Kiley Coles has a connection to the 2000 state championship team; her older sister, Kinsey, was the leading hitter on that team. . . . Rerick is in her first season as the Burros' head coach after two seasons as an assistant. . . . Haines was named outstanding senior player in both District 3 and Region 2.
