The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Fargo man who was killed when the pickup he was riding in spun off the road and crashed into Devils Lake.

The Lake Region Search and Rescue found Abraham Wilson, 25, dead in the water north of Minnewaukan, N.D., according to a release from the Highway Patrol.

Malorie Jo O'Connell, 25, was driving the 2008 Chevrolet pickup north on Old Highway 281 when she lost control and spun into the east ditch early Sunday. The pickup traveled over an embankment of large rocks and into the water. O'Connell and Wilson then left the pickup and started to swim, the release states.

O'Connell, Fargo, reached the shore and later notified authorities. She was not injured in the crash. The pickup was found completely submerged in the lake, the release said.

The patrol is still investigating the incident.
